Kid Rock is a fifty one year old man who is the son of wealthy owners of multiple car dealerships. Rock was raised outside of Detroit, Michigan in a 5,500 square foot mansion on six acres of private property. After his comfortable upbringing, Kid Rock went on to become even wealthier on the tales of his multi-platinum recording career.
That does not read like the biography of a man who is in tune with “We the people.” Nevertheless, Kid Rock has released a new song purporting to espouse the values of the common man. The track has already caused controversy over its inflammatory rhetoric.
The first verse includes the phrase, “F*ck Fauci” and criticizes the practice of wearing masks during a global pandemic. The buzz words keep coming as the chorus includes, “Let’s go Brandon,” which is rural American for “F Joe Biden.” The fever dream continues as Rock belts out complaints about the “mainstream media” which made him famous.
The out-of-touch track will surely find an audience. It was clearly purpose-written to rile up angry and fear-driven supporters of disgraced U.S. president Donald Trump. Based on the social media reaction, Kid Rock got the job done.
You can find the complete lyrics, according to Genius, in the quote below.
[Verse 1]
We the people in all we do
Reserve the right to scream “F*ck you”
(Hey-yeah) ow
(Hey-yeah) huh
“Wear your mask, take your pills”
Now a whole generation’s mentally ill
(Hey-yeah) man, f*ck Fauci
(Hey-yeah)But COVID’s near, it’s coming to town
[Chorus]
We gotta act quick, shut our borders down
Joe Biden does, the media embraces
Big Don does it and they call him racist
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people[Verse 2]
F*ck Facebook, f*ck Twitter too
And the mainstream media, f*ck you too, too, too
(Woo) yeah, you
[Bridge]
We the people (ooh, yeah)
We the people[Verse 3]
Inflation’s up, like the minimum wage
So it’s all the same, it ain’t a damn thing changed
(Hey-yeah
Hey-yeah)
You piece of sh*t, I don’t see color
“Black lives matter”, no sh*t motherf*cker
(Hey-yeah
Hey-yeah)But we gotta keep fighting for the right to be free
[Chorus]
And every human being doesn’t have to agree
We all bleed red, brother, listen to me
It’s time for love and unity
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people[Verse 4]
F*ck CNN, f*ck TMZ
And you social media trolls, y’all can suck on deez (deez)
Deez nuts, that’s what’s up
We the people (ha-ha)[Refrain]
If you down with love and wanna make things better
All we gotta do is just come together
Weather the storm, and take my hand
Then follow my lead to the promised land
‘Cause we the people, we gotta unite
To follow that good time guiding light
Climb aboard this love boat
And rock that bitch up and down the coastIn order to form a more perfect union
[Chorus]
Do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the people (ooh, let’s go Brandon)
We the peopleStanding up, and standing tall
‘Cause it’s all for one and it’s one for all
All, all, all
We the people (ooh)
We the people
Let’s go Brandon
Let’s go Brandon
Let’s go Brandon
Let’s go Brandon
The faux-patriotic tune plays out like a cacophony of conservative word vomit. Kid Rock has released this kind of song in the past. The “Cowboy” star has no problem exploiting misguided beliefs and debunked conspiracies to sell more records.
“We The People” will likely become a viral hit. It’s a song that many will find to be substantial and profound. The track will likely be studied by future historians as they attempt to figure out where society went wrong.
