Bob Saget’s still bringing laughs to one of standup comedy’s meccas. The late comedian’s family and celebrity friends gathered at the Comedy Store to commemorate his life and work.
On Sunday night, the legendary West Hollywood club was packed with some big names. On the guest list were Chris Rock, Jim Carrey, Jackson Browne, John Mayer, John Stamos, and Jeff Ross, to name a few.
Aubrey and Lara Rizzo, Bob’s daughters, arrived together and, of course, his widow Kelly Rizzo was also present. The memorial was announced a few days before the event, and just a few tickets were available to the general public.
The evening was not only a celebration of Saget’s life, but also a fundraiser for the Scleroderma Research Foundation, an organization Bob has supported for decades after his sister died of the condition in 1994.
Bob sat on the foundation’s board of directors and became an advocate for research and awareness. Bob told CBS last month, just weeks before his death, that he intended to keep fighting Scleroderma even after he died. That will be ensured by last night’s event, as well as countless others to follow.
