Magician, illusionist and musician, Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos known professionally as Criss Angel, is known for starring in the television and stage show Criss Angel Mind Freak. He also holds multiple world records made during his magic performances, and was named Magician of the Decade in 2009. Sadly, he experienced a great personal loss recently as he lost his beloved family dog.
The 54-year-old magician couldn’t contain his excitement when he took to Instagram earlier this month to announce to the world that his son Johnny’s cancer is in remission six years after the 7-year-old trooper was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2015.
Shortly after his delightful news, Criss Angel is again hit with a sorrowful event in his life. The magician has lost two of his pet dogs in the past few weeks, Chicket and Spike. Criss Angel took it to Twitter as he is mourning the loss of his family dog.
Hard day again today lost another family pet – Chicket and two weeks ago little Spike. Thank you Tommy and Lakeisha for giving our pets more life and taking such great care of them. We love you!
The famed illusionist vowed to raise hundreds of millions of dollars to fight pediatric cancer, earlier this year. Criss and wife Shaunyl also share 2-year-old son Yanni and 11-week-old daughter Illusia Angelina.
Angel, 54, released a video recording Johnny’s whole cancer treatment, calling it “the most important post I have ever made.” The roughly 14-minute long short film is titled “1095”, which represents the 1,095 chemotherapy sessions required to treat his son’s kind of B-Cell A.L.L. Leukemia.
