Eminem is easily one of the best known rappers in the world, and for good reason. With a career spanning over decades, Em is one of the most prolific rappers in the game, and has enjoyed tremendous success over the years.
However, the exact magnitude of his success, at least his commercial success, wasn’t public knowledge until very recently. Eminem’s music label had not updated his certifications for years, nor published sales figures.
However, leading up to this year’s Super Bowl, Pepsi has released a Halftime app, which features exclusive content about the artists performing at the Halftime Show, including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and of course, Eminem.
The content featured on this app includes video footage, giveaways and background information on the show and the artists involved. The section on Eminem has finally shed some light on his sales figures.
Eminem is a 15-time Grammy Award-winning rapper, songwriter, record producer, and proud Detroit native. Eminem has dominated the history for over two decades. His distinctive and fluid rapping styling has garnered global attention with more than 130 million albums and 389 million singles sold worldwide.
The information available on the app is likely accurate, since Aftermath works very closely with Pepsi and Roc Nation to make this show happen. It seems that the sales figures have come straight from the label.
With album and single sales combined, Eminem’s tally adds up to a whopping 519 million, an impressive feat by any account. It certainly seems like Eminem has the numbers to back up his “Rap God” claim.
