Paraguayan footballer Ivan Torres has revealed the tragic news of his wife’s murdered at a concert the two were attending together. His wife, Cristina Vita Aranda, was apparently shot in the back of her head.
The 29 year old was then taken to a hospital, after which she was confirmed dead by the Itaugua Nacional Hospital director, Yolanda Gonzalez. He told The Sun in a statement:
She was intubated when she arrived and attempts were made to resuscitate her for at least 25 minutes after she went into cardiac arrest. She died after the lengthy attempts to save her life.
Torres and Aranda were at the Jose Asuncion Flores Amphitheatre attending the concert when the tragedy occurred. According to The Sun, the matter is still being investigated.
As authorities are still probing into the matter, initial reports suggest that four other victims were found at the concert. Ranging between the ages of 23 and 40, these victims were also injured. Torres took to Instagram in order to reveal the news and say his goodbyes.
Benicio Ramirez, the police chief, says that officials don’t think that she was intended to be the main target. They consider that she was a “collateral victim” in an otherwise larger incident.
