Anderson Silva is considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history for good reason. He went up against many top names in the MMA world when he used to be active. After his release from UFC back in 2020, Silva hasn’t been quiet and is not finished in combat sports at all.
The Spider squared off against Tito Ortiz on September 11 last year at Triller Club in his second boxing match. Similar to his first one, Anderson Silva displayed immense skill and technique.
So much so, that he knocked out Tito Ortiz within the first round in just 81 seconds. Silva also previously noted that he doesn’t rule out facing off against Jake Paul in a boxing match.
While speaking on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Jake Paul made it clear that he would more than love to square off against The Spider in a boxing match in the future.
“Yes; definitely, definitely. I would love that fight. And interesting story – I think he was the first celebrity I ever saw. So, right when MMA was blowing up, my dad was a super-big fan. And we went to this local MMA event. And they must’ve paid Anderson Silva to come because it was in Ohio. So, I don’t know why he would’ve been there. But I actually asked for his autograph. And we took a picture with him. And I was like, this tall.
I’m maybe like, 12 years old. But I think he was the first celebrity that I met. And so it would be fun to bring it back full circle and fight, I guess, someone who is one of my first idols.”
Dana White also guaranteed Anderson Silva will never fight Jake Paul. While Dana White seems confident, it is ultimately up to Jake Paul whether he wants to face off against Anderson Silva or not. So it remains to be seen if that match ever happens or not.
