Brian Flores has everyone’s eyes on him as he leads the charge against Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants. The former head coach of the Dolphins has made some serious allegations against the league. Now the NFL is firing back with a response.
Brian Flores sued the NFL in an explosive lawsuit wherein he claimed that the team’s hiring policies were based on racism and a text from Bill Belichick confirms it. On Tuesday, the 40-year old coach filed the class action lawsuit in district court in New York.
Just after Flores filed his sued, ESPN reporter Michele Steele tweeted, documents which showed Flores is well aware that his future in the NFL is at risk, despite that he has decided to move forward. Flores insists the change he wants to bring is “bigger” than him.
It didn’t take long for NFL to double down on the allegations. They quickly responded to the controversy surrounding the league in a statement. They called the claims by Flores are “without merit.”
“The NFL and our clubs are deeply committed to ensuring equitable employment practices and continue to make progress in providing equitable opportunities throughout our organizations,” the league shared. “Diversity is core to everything we do, and there are few issues on which our clubs and our internal leadership team spend more time. We will defend against these claims, which are without merit.”
In addition to that, Flores’ text exchange with Bill Belichick was also released and that could pad his legal dispute with the league. This is a developing story, we will be on the lookout for more updates. Stay tuned to Thirsty.
