Rihanna Told Her Father About Pregnancy Before The World Knew

Rihanna rose to prominence after releasing her first two studio albums, Music of the Sun and A Girl Like Me. The news of her pregnancy was revealed on Twitter by the singer and her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. Rihanna’s father recently expressed his feelings about her daughter’s pregnancy.

Rihanna has previously stated her desire to have a child. Now, the singer has confirmed her first pregnancy by strolling through Harlem with boyfriend A$AP Rocky with her growing belly on full display.

“I’m ecstatic,” Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, told Page Six on Monday from his home in Barbados, adding, “I’m so happy that I jumped for joy.  I’m still so excited.” Rocky met Fenty after his daughter brought him home to the Caribbean island in December 2020, describing him as “a very cool guy” and adding, “I like him.”

“Rihanna always said that she wanted children, she loves kids. She always takes care of her cousins’ kids…she’s going to be a good mom.”

Rihanna’s relationship with her father, a former alcoholic and crack addict, has been strained over the years. Just weeks before their scheduled court date, Rihanna dropped her lawsuit against her father, accusing him of misusing her name to benefit his own entertainment company. The case is assumed to have been settled.

Now Fenty seems to have reconciled with his daughter. He stated that Rihanna called him with the news that he will be a grandpa on Sunday night.

“I just got the news from her last night, and she sent me some photos. I’m just over the moon. She’s beautiful inside and out.”
