The Rock recently called out a prominent critic of Donald Trump on social media after she questioned the validity of Joe Rogan’s apology about misinformation. Dwayne Johnson said that Cheri Jacobus was all over his timeline after she called out Rogan and The Great One. Rock continued to defend Joe Rogan and believed his original apology for allowing guests to spread false and disproven information about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jacobus continued to criticize Rogan. The Rock seemed to want to keep defending him. That was until a video of Joe using the n-word multiple times went viral all over the internet.
The Rock has now apologized to Cheri Jacobus via Twitter for his defense of Joe Rogan. Johnson said he didn’t represent himself the way he would’ve liked and that he used offensive language. The apology only came after the Rogan n-word video had spread far and wide. Johnson previously retracted his support for the controversial podcaster.
“Hi @CheriJacobus,
I owe you a sincere apology.
I didn’t show up the way I would’ve liked to in our dialogue and my language to you was offensive. I apologize.
Thank you and your followers for all the dialogue here.
Have a great & productive weekend.
DJ”
The Great One received a response as his apology was accepted, “Thank you, @TheRock. I appreciate the apology. Your voice is powerful, and words matter. I will have a great & productive weekend and hope you do, too.”
Jacobus replied that she appreciated the apology. Cheri reiterated that The Rock is very influential and that his words matter. It seems as though the hatchet has been buried. It was a rare PR gaffe for Dwayne Johnson. Hopefully, he has learned from it.
