‘Friday’ Star Anthony Johnson passed away this month and left a gaping hole in the heart of family and fans alike. It was previously reported that his family was having difficulty procuring funds for the funeral.
Johnson’s wife Lexis Jones Mason previously stated that the Johnson family started a GoFundMe, which reached its goal thanks to the likes of Offset and many others donating money for the funeral.
According to TMZ, Anthony Johnson’s cause of death is finally known. It was revealed by the medical examiner that Johnson died due to chronic alcohol abuse over the years.
As revealed by his autopsy report, “chronic ethanol use” was cited as the “Friday” star’s cause of death. The manner of his demise was also noted as natural. The document stated that there was no alcohol or common drugs of abuse found in his system when officials ran a toxicology test.
His widow, Lexis, said that Anthony’s legacy will live on through a foundation she is creating in his name. Lexi also added that she wants the cause of death to be public knowledge as a warning to others about the lethal effects of alcohol.
Lexi wants to teach youth about the dangers of alcohol, as she’s volunteering at church to talk to teenagers in order to stop hating alcohol in general. We applaud her for taking a stand to help better the lives of those affected by alcoholism.
