Jennifer Coolidge has had an extremely interesting career on the silver screen. Coolidge broke through as a mainstream character actress for her roles in American Pie as Stifler’s Mom in American Pie and as Paulette Bonafonté Parcelle in Legally Blonde. Today, she can be seen in The White Lotus. Coolidge is still popular enough that she landed a feature in InStyle magazine.

Jennifer’s prolific career didn’t fully catch on until the late 1990s. That doesn’t mean she wasn’t living it up in the 80s. Coolidge may have taken the partying a little too far.

In her InStyle interview, Jennifer talked about her prolific cocaine use. Being “born low energy” inspired her to select coke. Coolidge thought it was invented for her.

“So there was this drug that was invented for people like me. It made me very alive, you know?

‘Unfortunately, it’s a terrible drug”

Coolidge noted that she had several life-threatening experiences while experimenting with cocaine. Ultimately, it led her to check into a rehab facility at the age of 27. Jennifer was able to kick the habit and start taking her Hollywood ambitions more seriously.

Movie fans are grateful that Jennifer Coolidge was able to overcome her demons. American Pie wouldn’t be the same without Stifler’s mom. Neither would many of her iconic and hilarious roles.
