It’s been almost a year since Bobby Shmurda returned home from prison. Shmurda was found guilty of conspiracy to murder, gun possession and reckless endangerment. All that time at home, but he hasn’t dropped a major project. Something is up with his label and Bobby wants out of that prison too.
The “Hot N*gga” rapper took to Instagram Thursday to voice his frustration with his record label. The post has since been deleted. Shmurda is currently signed to Epic Records and managed by Roc Nation.
The Brooklyn rapper claimed his current contract bars him from releasing his finished album and more music. He posted a lengthy caption on his since-deleted Instagram post.
“This is not a cry for help this is a message and understanding for my fans that they stopping my music and prolonging my career I been holding shit down doing everything on my own since I been home it’s been ah year now I still feel like I’m in prison
and by the way the album’s done ready to live pleaseeeeeeeee I need them to let me gooooooooo!!! #FreeShmurda.”
Shmurda is no stranger to controversy. He is known to act silly on camera and never shies away from putting himself over on the internet. We’ll have to wait to say if the rapper and his record label reach an amicable solution on the alleged fallout.
