Warren Sapp knows all about attacking quarterbacks. The former All-Pro defensive lineman helped lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a victory in Super Bowl XXXVII, where his defensive unit stifled Rich Gannon, forcing five interceptions. Warren thinks Joe Burrow might be in for an even worse day.
The Los Angeles Rams defensive is full of fast, strong edge rushers and a linebacker group that has major star power. The deadly one-two punch of Aaron Donald and Von Miller will be too much for the Cincinnati Bengals QB, according to Sapp. He believes the Rams will have no problem containing the Bengals offense due to their weak offensive line.
Warren talked to TMZ Sports about his prediction for the big game outside of a Super Bowl party in Hollywood on Wednesday night. The Hall of Famer doesn’t think the Bengals will be able to stop Los Angeles’ pass rush. Joe Burrow will be in for a long night.
“I’ll tell you what, I love that kid Joe Burrow, but if he can stand up from this rush of Von Miller and Aaron Donald, he’d be the greatest quarterback ever in the history of the league.
But, I don’t see it. I don’t see it. They’ll be all over him all game long.”
It is certainly hyperbole to say that Joe Burrow would be the greatest quarterback in NFL history based on one game. It would be an impressive feat if he were able to take control of the game despite the fierce Rams defensive front. Joe Burrow might have just the inspiration he needs to make it happen. The Bengals are playing for Harambe.
