Fans on Reddit accused Teen Mom OG Farrah Abraham of digitally impersonating her 12-year-old daughter Sophia. Following Abraham’s controversial episode on Family Reunion, a Teen Mom spinoff, Sophia issued a lengthy defense of her mother on Facebook.
Sophia showered her mother with gratitude in an Instagram post, but fans were sceptical that Sophia was the one who wrote it. On Reddit, a discussion regarding the matter drew a flood of comments from anxious fans. The original poster added, “Baby Goo, I mean Farrah posted on Sophie’s Instagram,” sharing photographs of Sophia’s reaction to MTV.
“There’s so much wrong here, but one thing that isn’t related to Farrah impersonating her daughter on social media is how sad it is that people are leaving inappropriate comments on a child’s Instagram account,” one Redditor wrote.
“I feel terrible for Sophia, Farrah is disgusting,” another one chimed in.
“There is something really unsettling about reading these social media comment exchanges between a mother and daughter. How false, orchestrated and heartbreaking Sophia thinks this a normal mother/daughter relationship,” a third one pointed out.
After calling co-star Cory Wharton “ghetto,” Abraham was accused of racism. Abraham blasted MTV for the incident and announced her permanent departure from the franchise. After a public spat with MTV over Teen Mom and several people who posted a video in which Abraham discussed defecating in a jar, Abraham stated she was ready to get treatment to get her mental health under control.
