Wendy Williams is one of the most well-known talk show hosts in the entertainment industry. Wendy is known for expressing her thoughts and not mincing words. This year Wendy is in the headlines in some way or the other. Wendy Williams recently sued Wells Fargo for a restraining order.
Wendy Williams has filed a restraining order against Wells Fargo, alleging that the bank is preventing her from gaining access to millions of dollars in her account. Wells Fargo responded by saying they have ‘strong reason to suspect she is a victim of “financial exploitation.” Williams claims that Wells Fargo refused her access in court filings obtained by Fox News.
“To her financial assets for weeks without providing her or her counsel with adequate explanation or evidence to support its decision.”
Overall, Williams claims the bank has ‘several million dollars’ in her account. Williams’ account was reportedly frozen by Wells Fargo after her former financial advisor, Lori Schiller, said she was “of unsound mind.”
“Wells Fargo’s priority is the financial well-being of Ms. Williams and the preservation of her privacy. As we have expressed to the Court, Wells Fargo is open to working with Ms. Williams’ counsel to release funds directly to her creditors for bills historically and regularly paid from her accounts.”
Wells Fargo denied any misconduct on its part and stated something about Wendy Williams’ allegations.
“We deny any allegations of improper actions with respect to Ms. Williams’ accounts and are fully participating in a court process to reach a resolution that is in her best interest. The financial well-being of our clients is at the heart of everything we do.”
The claims leveled by Williams were not accepted by Wells Fargo. Now it’s up to the honorable court to decide which route to take. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more information on Williams’ lawsuit.
