The death of comedic genius Bob Saget is still being mourned today. While initially assumed that he died of a heart attack, new reports revealed he had sustained a fatal head injury.
On Tuesday, Saget’s family filed a lawsuit to block the release of certain records relating to the late actor.
A Florida judge on Wednesday granted a temporary ruling, blocking the release of certain records regarding the medical and death investigation of actor and comedian Bob Saget. The Saget family’s attorney told The Hollywood Reporter the following:
“The facts of the investigation should be made public, but these materials should remain private out of respect for the dignity of Mr. Saget and his family,”
“It’s very simple — from a human and legal standpoint — the Saget family’s privacy rights outweigh any public interest in disclosure of this sensitive information.”
Circuit Judge Vincent Chiu found that Saget’s wife and daughter will “suffer irreparable harm in the form of severe mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress” if the documents are made public.
Saget, 65, was found dead in his hotel room on Jan. 9. Given all the disputes regarding his death, Saget’s family are struggling to keep matters out of public eye. While public and media outlets keep demanding reports from autopsy and such to be released.
