Nicki Minaj is certainly one of the most established female rappers in the Hip-Hop world. She has already broken quite a few records in her decade-long career and that isn’t going to change anytime soon. Minaj is also an expert in breaking the internet whenever she feels like it.
Nicki Minaj was also involved in a controversy of sorts last year. This took place after Halle Berry called Cardi B the Queen of Hip-Hop, which led to Minaj’s fans attacking Berry.
According to XXLMag, Rémy Martin talked about one of the most significant moments in hip-hop history. This included Nicki Minaj breaking a huge record back in 2017, where she surpassed Aretha Franklin’s Billboard Hot 100 record in 2017.
On April 1, 2017, Minaj debuted three songs on the chart—“No Frauds” featuring Drake and Lil Wayne (No. 14), “Regret in Your Tears” (No. 61) and “Changed It” with Lil Wayne (No. 71). Due to this, Minaj had 76 Hot 100 appearances, surpassing the Queen of Soul’s total of 73. Franklin had held the record for nearly 40 years, since June 18, 1977.
“It’s no secret she’s an icon—an icon of all icons,” Minaj said of Franklin during a Queen Radio episode in 2018, after she passed away at the age of 76. “I don’t know anyone who she hasn’t inspired.”
Nicki Minaj will forever remain one of the most influential and significant female rappers in the history of the Hip-Hop world and her personal touch on her songs simply goes to show how good she is.
