Kanye West is the most divisive rapper in the industry, and he is even known for making controversial, off-the-wall statements. Kanye has once again made headlines by releasing his remark for the stem player. Prior to the release of Donda 2, Kanye West stated that Stem Player had the highest first-day revenue than any album on streaming services.
West has severed all relations with Apple and decided to distribute his songs independently. This decision appears to be working out well for the cultural icon. Ye said last week that DONDA 2, the highly anticipated successor to the DONDA mega-album, will be released exclusively through Ye’s Yeezy Stem Player platform.
“Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own.”
“DONDA 2 will only be streaming on my own platform, the stem player. You can download new music from stemplayer.com. You can play 4 different elements of the track: vocals, drums, bass and music. It also has a MP3 player available. We currently have 67,000 available and are making 3,000 a day. Go click the link in my bio to purchase.”
Since then, the Yeezy team has ended a sponsorship agreement with Apple and is looking for other ways to broadcast the forthcoming Donda Experience live event. The sales figures for the first Yeezy Tech item, the Yeezy Stem Player, were finalized just a few days later. Ye captioned an extremely brief graphic schematic of the item with his happy news.
“To earn the $2.2 million we made on the first day on the stem player the album would have had to stream 500 million times We did more revenue on stemplayer, without the album even being out, than we would have done with the album being out on streaming.”
Finally, fans are only 2 days away from Donda 2. Are you all excited to hear it? The fire will release on 22nd February. For more updates on Donda 2 stay tuned to Thirsty.
