Conor McGregor’s Status As Highest Paid UFC Fighter Defended In A Big Way

Conor McGregor fractured his ankle at the end of the first round of his UFC 264 fight against Dustin Poirier. Since then McGregor has been on a path of destruction that resulted in McGregor saying a lot of controversial remarks. It seems Israel Adesanya has defended Conor McGregor as well recently.

While Conor McGregor has backed up his trash talks in the past, more often than not, they have also resulted in embarrassing defeats for him. McGregor also doesn’t hold any title in the UFC.

The Notorious One has been hard at work recovering from his injury over the past several months and has noticeably bulked up in anticipation of his return, though Dustin Poirier thinks he looks puffy. McGregor also never won a single fight in 2021.

While speaking on ‘Ignore The Noise’ with Charlamagne Tha God and Andrew Schulz, Israel Adesanya revealed that he has signed a new deal with the UFC, revealing that he is now the second-highest-paid athlete in the UFC.

Adesanya then stated that Conor McGregor is still the highest-paid athlete in the UFC and that the Notorious One more than deserves it.

“Conor’s still first. Of course. He’s changed the game, and he’s got his … he cashes the checks, put a**es in seats.”

Conor McGregor is expected to make his return by the Summer of this year. We will have to wait and see how he will perform in his comeback fight as fans are waiting to see him return.
