The Weeknd Announces Immersive Dawn FM Music Special

The Weeknd will pair his new album Dawn FM with an “immersive music special” The Weekend x DAWN FM Experience. The Grammy-winning singer announced the release date and dropped a teaser for his upcoming release.

The special will be premiering exclusively on Amazon Prime Video this Friday. Amazon said it is “A mesmerizing visual, creating a theatrical performance event that will envelope audiences in its unnerving and moody world.”

The special is set to drop on Amazon streaming on February 26. The teaser itself doesn’t reveal much except for the fact that Tesfaye once again morphs into the old man character he’s played in music videos pertaining to Dawn FM and it’s album art.

The Weeknd made the following statement about his upcoming special:

“Welcome to the next phase of Dawn FM—a purgatory otherworld where live performance, theater, and performance art collide for a night out at the club,” 

“I’m ecstatic to partner with Amazon to premiere the most elaborate live TV special I’ve ever done.”

Furthermore, a day before Dawn Experience premieres, fans will be able to stream an eight-track live EP culled from the special on Amazon Music. Also, an exclusive merch capsule commemorating the release will be available to purchase via the Weeknd’s Amazon page.

The special is directed by La Mar C. Taylor and Micah Bickham, who were also the contributing hands in the creation of it alongside the Weeknd.
