Kanye West has a lot of money and he just might want to get into the pro sports realm. His eye is on Denver, and Shannon Sharpe approves.
Shannon Sharpe is a Denver Broncos legend. The retired tight end won two Super Bowls with the franchise and spent twelve seasons in the Mile High City. There are few more qualified to discuss the franchise than Sharpe.
Kanye West recently partnered up with Antonio Brown to form Donda Sports. Brown’s first act in his position was to tweet at the NFL that he wanted to buy the Denver Broncos. The team is expected to sell for a record-breaking sum.
TMZ Sports caught up with Shannon Sharpe to see what he thought of the proposal. Shannon said he believes more minority ownership would be great for the NFL. Shannon said he would be happy with any minority owner.
“I’d be happy, if a minority, Robert Smith, I see Byron Allen is interested. I’m all for it. If Kanye can get some investors and 26 owners out of the 32 agree, I’m all for it, man. I’m all for it.”
Sharpe said he believes the highest bidder will ultimately win. The Hall of Famer doesn’t think the league would block Kanye West from owning a franchise. If Kanye was willing to put up the money, Shannon thinks he could get it.
We will have to wait and see if Donda Sports will be a serious bidder for the Broncos. Antonio Brown might have just been trying to drum up buzz for the new company. Whoever gets the team will be paying a ton of money.
