Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets are about to get serious. A wild season that saw Irving miss a ton of games due to his refusal to be vaccinated against COVID-19 has met the team with mixed success. At the All-Star break, Brooklyn is 31-28, just barely good enough to be in the playoff mix if the season ended today.

The Nets made a huge move at the trade deadline, swapping James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons. Simmons was also refusing to play for his team. Ben did not trust the Sixers medical staff to properly handle his mental health issues.

With the malcontent Durant out of the picture and Ben Simmons quickly working himself into game condition, the Nets could be a formidable opponent in the second half. Kyrie Irving is extremely confident that the team will be improved. In a recent Twitch stream, Irving had stern words for the rest of the league.

“Just watch how our squad comes out of this All-Star Break.”

Nets fans are hoping Kyrie Irving’s words prove prophetic. The regular season resumes on Thursday after a phenomenal All-Star Weekend in Cleveland. Kyrie can’t wait to get back to work.

It has been a crazy year in the Association. Star players have been moved and some have even refused to play until certain conditions were met. Kyrie Irving is hoping those days are behind him as he is laser-focused on success in the second half of the season.
