Jordan Cashmeyer was one of many young mothers who volunteered to have their lives recorded for MTV’s reality hit, “16 and Pregnant.” Jordan sadly passed away at the age of 26 earlier this year. Cashmeyer’s family said that Jordan had a history of substance abuse and addiction.
Fans were left without many details beyond the notion that Jordan’s death was drug-related. A just-released medical examiner’s report has revealed the true cause of Cashmeyer’s passing. Us Weekly has confirmed that Jordan died from fentanyl and cocaine intoxication.
Jordan’s representative Howie Wood said the reality star seemed fine the last time he talked to her. Wood was surprised to learn of her death. He was saddened along with many fans and Cashmeyer’s family and loved ones.
“The last time I spoke with Jordan, she sounded happy and healthy. I wish people had the opportunity to know her away from her struggles as she was a very sweet and kind hearted person. I’m grateful I had the chance to know and work with her all these years. Life was not always good to her and I hope now she is in a better place. RIP sweet girl.”
Jordan’s parents were forthcoming with the information on her drug problem. We now know precisely what substances contributed to her death. It was a sad reality for a promising young woman who was loved by many.
Jordan’s history of substance abuse led her to be arrested in 2019 for possession. Cashmeyer worked hard to get sober and celebrated her first sobriety anniversary just months before giving birth to her daughter Lyla in January of last year. Our hearts go out to Jordan Cashmeyer’s family and loved ones in the wake of this tragic news.
