The Notorious B.I.G. would have turned 50 years old this year. Biggie was fatally shot in 1997 at the age of 24. This year, fans will get to celebrate his Notorious legacy in a huge way.
The estate of Christopher Wallace has collaborated with Bad Boy Records, Rhino, and Atlantic for “The Sky’s the Limit,” an anniversary celebration of the legendary rapper. Biggie fans will be able to see a ton of new material from The Notorious B.I.G. Complex reported on the big news.
The event starts on March 25. Some of the content fans can expect include a 4K upgrade to Biggie’s video library to online events celebrating his life and work. Collectors also have a golden opportunity to snag a super deluxe box set of Biggie’s debut, “Life After Death.”
The box set includes eight vinyl LPs and comes with all kinds of bonus content. Retailing for $179.98, a special commemorative insert booklet will include rare photos from the album’s creation and commentary from those involved with the record’s production. It is a monster of a release.
The Life After Death 25th Anniversary Super Deluxe Box Set will drop on June 10. Target will launch a less expensive version of the set. The 3-LP Silver Vinyl remaster edition will cost $59.98.
The Notorious B.I.G. is one of hip-hops most celebrated artists. Biggie was another one we lost way too soon. Fans will get their chance to honor him in a huge way with this exciting year-long event.
