Avril Lavigne is preparing to drop her new album, Love Sux, which comes after her 2019 album “Head Above Water.” While her last album was more about her emotional expression, the artist has gone back to her roots on this one.
The Rockstar has collaborated with Travis Barker and his fellow bandmate Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus on the highly anticipated album. While a lot of this album is back to basics for her, it is still about love.
Lavigne took to revealing in an interview with USA Today that the album is about the frustrations and many other emotions that she associates with love. She told the outlet:
I love the album title. It’s like how a lot of people feel. Love is hard. Love is a lot of work. And sometimes it just doesn’t end well.
The artist has faced a lot of problems until her past three public relationships have fallen out. In 2006, Lavigne married fellow punk rocker Deryck Whibley from Sum 41. After her break up with the frontman, she famously married Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger, after which she dated Pete Jonas.
“Love Sux” is the 7th studio album by Avril, which hails from Travis Barker’s DTA Records. She even collaborated with Machine Gun Kelly and pro-skater legend Tony Hawk on the album with the song “Bois Lie.” The album releases on February 25.
