The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is most certainly one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time. The 90s sitcom also jumpstarted Will Smith’s career as it helped him reach superstardom. The show became a global phenomenon and the various life lessons it taught continue to be felt even now.
When it was announced that the show will be receiving a reboot, fans were skeptical whether it will live up to the original or not. This is because it shifted its focus from a comedic tone to a much more serious, dramatic tone.
The reboot show was released earlier this month and the reception so far has been mixed. However, fans and critics alike have all praised Jabari Banks’ role as Will Smith.
During Wednesday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Kelly Clarkson and Jabari Banks rapped the ‘Fresh Prince Of Bel Air’ theme song to perfection. Clarkson asked Banks if he knows the theme song of the original show.
“Oh, absolutely,” he responded.
“I’m going to need you to sing a little,” she said.
“You wanna do it?” Banks said, as the audience applauded. “But if I do it, we all got to do it together.”
“I’m fine with that. Everybody knows it. We all know it,” Clarkson replied.
Clarkson and Banks were each then given a microphone and began their duet. Banks sang the song well as even Kelly Clarkson acknowledged how good he was. The audience in attendance stood up for a round of applause as well. Fans loved to see Clarkson and Banks perform and that is what matters in the end.
