Dr. Dre teamed up with Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent for an iconic performance at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, which was special for hip-hop culture. However, on the stage, Eminem took a knee as an homage to Colin Kaepernick, which really impressed Boosie.
Boosie Badazz was asked about his reaction to Eminem’s decision to take a knee in Los Angeles, which made headlines. He was not surprised when Eminem did so by kneeling on stage. That fit with Marshall’s personality for him:
Eminem is a stand-up guy. “I’m the only one out here of this color, I’m gonna take a motherf*cking knee. Let you know I’m with y’all”. Straight up. And plus, he’s from Detroit. He’s raised around us. He got a different love for us than most people who weren’t raised around us. People don’t know the love we have if you’re not raised around us if you’ve never been around good black people.
During a recent interview with TMZ, Dr.Dre also addressed Em’s decision to take the knee. He explained, “Em taking the knee, that was Em doing that on his own, and there was no problem with that,” Dre continued. “But, all in all, everybody came in, we were professional, everybody was on time. Everybody felt the magnitude of what this thing was, and what we were going to be able to accomplish. It was a fantastic experience.”
Boosie Badazz recently appeared on VladTV as part of a promotion for his new album “Heartfelt,” was asked about his thoughts on Super Bowl LVI. “I was impressed,” he remarked. “I was definitely impressed. Dre is a role model.” You can check out the video to see the interview below.
