You might know Hillary Duff from a lot of shows but her classic show remains to be Lizzie McGuire. The thought of a reboot was nixed by Disney, but not all hope is lost.
The show Lizzie McGuire was last aired on Disney+ in 2020 since then Lizzie is being expected to be rebooted. In an interview with The Cut, Hillary Duff said, “I think there’s always a possibility there. And even if she’s 40, I don’t think people care. It’s always going to be somewhat interesting to people to see where she ended up.”
During the interview, she mentioned that she doesn’t like to talk about the Lizzy McGuire Reboot project because every time it is brought up the internet seems to explode.
If you’ve been a fan of the show, Lizzie McGuire you would know that the reboot did not take place because of the few clashes between Disney+ and Hillary. “I think they’re really trying to figure out what kind of content they want living on Disney+,” Hillary mentioned in an interview with SiriusXM.
“That doesn’t totally align with where I see Lizzie right now. I’m, like, very protective of her, and they’re very protective of her.”
“I know efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work but, sadly and despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen. I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It’s what the character deserves. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. I’m very sad, but I promise everyone tried their best, and the stars just didn’t align.”
Also in an interview with Cosmopolitan Hillary described “My character was moving back home with her parents because she caught her soon-to-be fiancé cheating on her, and she was falling flat on her face at the moment and being like, ‘I need to pivot because everything that I thought was wasn’t, and I’m turning 30. What the f***?'”
We’ll have to see if Lizzie comes back, but hope is not lost at all. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more information!
