Lizzo Claims She’s A Body Icon Like Kim Kardashian

Being a celebrity can have its fair share of problems and Lizzo is more than aware of that fact. Lizzo is a plus-size singer and for that reason, she has been a subject of constant ridicule and body shaming, among other things. Lizzo also hates it when someone brings up her weight.

Previously a rumor made rounds that claimed that Lizzo killed a person by jumping into the crowd while attempting a stage dive. Lizzo would squash that rumor shortly after. Even Cardi B came after Lizzo’s haters who constantly body shame her.

On top of that, even rappers such as T.I. and The Game came to the defense of Lizzo after so many trolls attacked Lizzo by body-shaming her. Lizzo fired back at her haters with a body positive message as well.

While speaking with People, Lizzo talked about being a body icon and spreading body positivity. Lizzo also claimed that she is just as much a body icon as Kim Kardashian.

“Okay, we all know I’m fat. I know I’m fat. It doesn’t bother me. I like being fat, and I’m beautiful and I’m healthy. So can we move on? I think I have a really hot body! I’m a body icon, and I’m embracing that more and more every day. It may not be one person’s ideal body type just like, say, Kim Kardashian might not be someone’s ideal, but she’s a body icon and has created a modern-day beauty standard. And what I’m doing is stepping into my confidence and my power to create my own beauty standard. And one day that will just be the standard.

I wasn’t supposed to be a millionaire. I wasn’t supposed to be a sex symbol. I wasn’t supposed to be on the cover of People, but I am. So how can I make this worthwhile? How can I make this not just a flash in the pan?”

Even Offset previously told internet trolls who went after Lizzo to back off. We do not condone body shaming of any kind whatsoever and only hope this hate for Lizzo will die down soon enough. Regardless, Lizzo will always love herself and continue to spread body positivity whenever she can.
