Demi Lovato never fails to impress us with her voice. Demi has always been into exploring different scopes in her life and that could be evident from her ventures. To our surprise, she has now turned away from NBC’s pilot of the show Hungry.

According to Deadline, the Heart Attack singer has recently declined to star in the pilot which earned a pilot commitment from NBC. This comes as a shock since the production for the show is about to begin shortly. She has turned down the show reportedly due to her scheduling complications.

Lovato, along with their manager Scooter Braun, still remains the executive producer of the show. The role is being recast, with the goal to have a replacement shortly so the pilot stays on schedule. Even after such a sudden decision, the show producers are willing to do everything to make it air on time.

It is written and executive produced by Suzanne Martin and to be directed by James Burrows. Hungry follows a group of friends who belong to a food-issues group helping one another as they look for love, success, and a variety of comfort food. Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner, SB Projects’ Scooter Braun, James Shin, and Scott Manson are also in the production team of the show.

Valerie Bertinelli, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Ryan McPartlin, Alex Brightman, Ashley D. Kelley also star in the pilot. Valerie Bertinelli signed on a few days later to play Lisa, the mother of Lovato’s character Teddy. TV legend James Burrows came aboard last month to direct the pilot episode.

It’s great to see that the preparation for the pilot is still going on amid Demi backing out of it. With such an interesting concept and amazing casts, we will be looking forward to the show.
