2k is adding a new collector mode, MyFaction, to the upcoming WWE 2k22 game. Here we break down details of the mode based on early access to the game. WWE 2k22 developer Terrell Carter had a chance to sit down with Operation Sports to discuss the new feature.
MyFaction is an offline, single-player card-collecting mode that features current and past WWE Superstars. It’s not so different from other card collecting modes like MyTeam seen in 2k’s NBA video games.
The objective of MyFaction mode revolves around building a team (faction) by completing challenges, matches and earning rewards. In addition, in-game points and currency can also be used to acquire certain cards.
The cards have gem levels, such as Bronze, Silver, Emerald, Sapphire, Amethyst, and Diamond. As of right now, there are no Pink Diamonds, Galaxy Opals, or Dark Matter cards but could be available as DLC in the future.
Proving Grounds will function as MyFaction’s story mode. It will offer players rewards as they play the game. MyFaction points are based on three levels as rewards. The difficulty level selected ahead of the match will decide how many points one earns.
WWE 2k22 releases on March 11th PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The pre-order for the game is live, and those who order the deluxe edition will get it early on March 8th.
