Nikki Bella Is Holding Off Marriage With Artem Chigvintsev For Financial Reasons

Nikki Bella is one of the most beloved female WWE Superstars in the history of the company, especially by her Bella Army. Nikki and her fiancé Artem started dating in January of 2019. In March of that year, the two confirmed their romance, and a few months later, in July of that year, they made their relationship official.

Nikki Bella has responded to claims that she does not want to marry her fiancé Artem Chigvintsev. The former WWE star defended statements she made during a recent appearance on E! News’ “Daily Pop” in which she claimed she wanted to make sure it’s forever before walking down the aisle.

She made that statement during a special episode of her and her sister Brie Bella’s podcast, “The Bellas Podcast,” titled “Kill a Rumor.” Nikki, who has been engaged to Artem since 2019, stated on the podcast that she still intends to marry the professional dancer and explained why they are delaying their wedding plans.

I will be getting married, and I can’t wait. I do me, for me. So that means I’ll marry Artem when I want, for me and Teo and him, for my life. There are also things that Artem and I don’t talk about. Like, financially, we have so much more going on in our lives to think, for Artem and I, for the past two years, of putting our money into a wedding — it’s probably the main reason we’ve hesitated.

And also Artem’s parents. We just never wanted to say to people like, ‘We don’t wanna spend the money on that right now.’ We’re building a home that costs us four to five times more than what we thought, and we want Matteo to have [an] amazing education, so we started to put all of our money in other places and then we’re like, ‘Do we really want to spend all this on a wedding?’

Artem, who shares Nikki’s 18-month-old son Matteo, said that when one proposes to another, they have a much greater understanding of what the other wishes to accomplish. Nikki also stated that she feel like she has finally found her person with Artem.

Nikki and Artem got engaged in November 2019 and announced their engagement in January of the following year. A few weeks later, they announced that they were expecting their first child. Matteo, the couple’s first child, was born in July 2020.
