Amy Schumer Accidentally Reveals Michael Cera Secretly Welcomed First Child

Michael Cera and his wife Nadine dated for 18 months after the filming of ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World’ in 2010. For the most part, they kept their relationship a secret. They preferred to keep their personal lives private. Amy appears to have spilled the beans about their personal lives by inadvertently announcing the birth of the couple’s first child together.

The actress made the announcement while discussing lessons for her two-year-old son, Gene. “Michael has a baby too,” she revealed to Entertainment Tonight on Friday, March 4, before realizing her mistake. “Is that public knowledge? … I just outed him. I just outed his baby.” Cera, 33, appeared to confirm his Life & Beth costar’s reveal, telling the outlet, “We’re right at the beginning of it. We’re doing the very basics right now.”

Schumer plays the titular character in the upcoming Hulu series, which premieres on Friday, March 18, as she reevaluates her life after a traumatic event. Her love interest, John, is played by the Superbad actor. Cera prefers to keep his personal life out of the spotlight. In March 2018, a source told Us Weekly that he and Nadine whose last name has not been revealed were married.

The actor was spotted wearing a gold wedding band while packing on the PDA with his longtime love in Brooklyn, prompting the news. While the precise date of their wedding was unknown, he had been wearing the ring on his left hand since at least January 2017.

The Arrested Development alum previously dated Scott Pilgrim vs. the World co-star Aubrey Plaza, but the two never made their relationship public. In November 2016, she finally revealed their relationship.

“Oh, Michael. I dated him for a long time,” the Parks and Recreation alum said during an episode of the “What’s the Tee?” podcast. “A year and a half. We drove across the country after we shot that movie and almost got married in Vegas.”

Plaza, who revealed in May 2021 that she secretly married Jeff Baena, stated that she and Cera remained close after their divorce. “We love each other. We’re still really good friends,” she explained. “He’s just a weird little freak, and we speak the same language. He’s one of the funniest people I know.”
