Paris Hilton is the great-granddaughter of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton. Since her childhood, Paris has been surrounded by icons. Paris recently paid tribute to her great aunt Elizabeth Taylor by sharing a childhood photo of herself with the late screen legend.
The Paris in Love star gifted her 18.1 million Instagram followers a rare throwback photo of herself as a child, posing with her father Rick Hilton and her great aunt, late screen legend Elizabeth Taylor, on Friday. “As the icon, Elizabeth Taylor once said, ‘It’s all about hope, kindness and a connection with one another,'” Hilton captioned the photo.
Taylor’s first husband was her great uncle Conrad Hilton Jr., who she married for eight months from 1950 to 1951. Conrad Jr. died of a heart attack in 1969, and Taylor, who remarried six times, died of congestive heart failure at the age of 79 in 2011. At the time, Paris paid tribute to the Cleopatra star. “So sad to hear about Elizabeth Taylor. She was so beautiful, such an inspiration and an icon,” she wrote on Twitter.
“She was an amazing humanitarian and brought smiles to everyone around the world. She was always so sweet to me and I will really miss her.”
When she released her 2014 fragrance, With Love, Paris Hilton, the Simple Life alum cited Taylor as one of her inspirations. She told the Daily Mail, “I grew up with her.”
“Elizabeth was such a glamorous and stylish woman. From a young age I looked up to her and what she accomplished. I admire how she lived her life to the fullest and was also a smart business woman.”
Paris’ perfume empire includes 25 fragrances and counting has since become one of the most successful celebrity fragrance lines, second only to Taylor’s. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
