Teen Mom Star Gary Shirley Undergoes Major Surgery

Gary Shirley is the ex-fiance of 16 & Pregnant/Teen Mom star, Amber Portwood and father of Leah Leann Shirley. While Amber Portwood continues to get get heat for her actions, Gary has emerged as a fan favorite Dad from the show. Recently, Gary opened up about his major health crisis.

The Teen Mom baby daddy revealed he’s getting major surgery on both wrists after suffering numbness in his hands. The Teen Mom OG star shared the news in an Instagram video with his six-year-old daughter Emilee on Thursday. As of now, Gary has undergone the surgery successfully and is recovering.

Gary Shirley admitted heHe underwent the operation on Friday. Amber Portwood praised Gary’s current partner, wife Kristina, for being such a “great nurse” to him. Gary said he was “petrified” going into his carpal tunnel surgery but revealed he’s recovering well.

Gary was suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome. It is a fairly common condition that causes pain, numbness and tingling in the hand and arm. The condition occurs when one of the major nerves to the hand — the median nerve — is squeezed or compressed as it travels through the wrist.

Gary Shirly has also recently mended his relationship with Amber Portwood after months of feuding. A few months back, the exes reunited for a lunch date with their daughter Leah at Gary’s home. She snapped a photo with Gary as he smiled while holding a turkey club sandwich.
