Lil Durk set himself up as one of the industry’s top rappers. For one reason or another, Lil Durk is almost always in the news. However, according to recent reports, it appears that Lil Durk and 21 Savage will be releasing new music in the near future.
Durk’s fans expected him to release a new album last month, on the same day as Kanye’s Donda 2, but he announced that wouldn’t be the case. The album’s release date was pushed back a few weeks, with a March 11th release date set in stone. Fans wondered why this could be the case, especially since he had already begun the project’s rollout, and it could be because he was trying to cram in some last-minute records.
Lil Durk took to Instagram over the weekend to tease an upcoming link up with 21 Savage. The rapper posted a photo of himself and Savage locked in the studio, implying that we’ll be hearing from the two of them on 7220.
Over the years, the two have developed a close friendship and have teamed up multiple times. Both parties collaborated with Nardo Wick on the “Who Wants Smoke??” remix last year. Prior to that, they collaborated on songs like “Die Slow” and “Shooter2x.”
Lil Durk is making preparations for 7220, and 21 Savage appears to be as well. In 2020, he released Savage Mode 2 – the follow-up to his highly lauded breakout project with Metro Boomin. However, in January, he hinted that his solo follow-up to I am > I was might be released in 2022.
