Aaron Rodgers stated that he would make a decision on his NFL future this week. Fans throughout the league speculated if the future Hall of Fame quarterback would remain with the Packers or join another team. However, after all the build-up and drama, Aaron Rodgers is up for a new adventure with the Green Bay Packers.
Rodgers announced his plans to return to Green Bay for his 18th season on Twitter. On Tuesday, news of those plans was accompanied by a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport that the quarterback has agreed to a four-year, $200 million deal with the team.
Rodgers surpasses Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, who earns $45 million on his current contract. Rodgers confirmed his return to the team on Twitter but claimed that the “supposed terms” of the contract were inaccurate.
“Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the @packers next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I “signed”. I’m very excited to be back 💪🏼 #year18❤️”
The major lesson, regardless of the deal Rodgers signs with the Packers, will be the same. Green Bay’s quarterback will be Aaron Rodgers, and the Packers will remain the NFC North’s team to beat.
