All the Oscar nominees gathered in L.A. for the Annual Academy Awards, but Nicole Kidman could not attend the award ceremony. She was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Amazon’s Being the Ricardos.
While all the other nominees were present, according to Variety, Nicole Kidman was at home because she was recovering from a torn hamstring while filming her new series Expats on Amazon.
Kidman already had a pre-existing injury but it flared up while she was shooting for Expats in Los Angeles. She is at home, under doctor’s orders. Production will resume on Expats this week but the team might have to pause at some point to determine whether they can shoot around Nicole before she returns.
Expats is based on the novel The Expatriates by Janice Y.K. Lee, which is about the lives of three expatriate women in Hing Kong. Kidman stars alongside Sarayu Blue, Ji-young Yoo, and Jack Huston. The project was first announced in 2018.
It is not sure if Kidman will be able to attend the Academy Awards on March 27 because of her injury. The actress will also be preoccupied with the promotion of her upcoming movie The Northman which is set to release on April 22.
Kidman also returns as Queen Atlanta in the movie, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom which is supposed to release on December 16. She also stars in the upcoming series Roar, which is in production at the moment.
