TMZ reported, Tony Hawk broke his leg, but he is determined to recover from the injury and get back on his skateboard. The 53-year-old injured his leg in a skating accident, but details were not immediately clear on what went down.
The Carlsbad, California native took to Instagram on Tuesday to give an update. Tony shared X-ray photos of his injury and a clip of him walking on crutches in a medical facility. Hawk said in the caption of the post, ‘Yesterday sucked,’
Tony added, ‘I broke my elbow 20 years ago and managed to make a full comeback; this recovery for a broken femur will be much harder because of its severity (and my age). But I’m up for the challenge.’ The skateboarding icon noted the ‘strange irony that’ the injury ‘happened on the eve of HBO releasing a trailer for’ Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off’
Hawk said that recovering from the ‘broken leg – with plenty of hardware – will probably be the biggest test of that creed.’ The veteran skateboarder also said that he was determined to resume his passion when his body allows. Check out his post below.
