Fans would go as far back in time as possible to dig out dirt on a celeb’s name. This happens quite a lot with Kim Kardashian. This time an old interview of her comparing her marriage to a cancer patient’s struggles got much traction in Reddit.
The SKIMS founder did an interview back in 2012 with The Guardian. In the event, she compared her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries to the struggles of a teen cancer patient. Noticing the inappropriate and offensive grounds of such comparisons fans took to Reddit to voice their discomfort.
“I think that, with any decisions in life, like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She’s 18. And I was like, that’s how I feel.”
One wrote: “What in the f**k?” Another agreed: “As if she can’t get any worse, she manages to do so. I would love to see how her stans try to defend this.” A third chimed in “Tone deafness has been through the roof time and again.”
Kim recently received backlash following comments she made about success in a cover story for Variety. In the interview, she said she has a piece of advice for women in business. Kim then firmly stated: “Get your f**king a** up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”
Fans on Instagram were quick to critique the SKIMS mogul’s advice. One wrote: “I love the ladies, but this screams of privilege. I’m sorry it’s not so easy for many.” Another added: “They have no idea how the ‘real’ world works.”
The Kardashians have a big platform on where they can influence people. Making bland and inappropriate comments only pushes the crowd in the wrong direction. While she may be free from Kanye West, she needs to free her mind of these aforementioned thoughts.
