Gunna Drops Hints About New Album This Summer

Gunna is set to lock down the summer after the success of DS4EVER. After only two months following the release of DS4EVER, Gunna appears to be preparing to release new songs.

The Pushin’ P rapper teased a new album coming out this summer, as well as a clip of new songs, on Thursday. This has to have his fans happy that they might get to overuse a new emoji soon.

He captioned the post, “Y’all n*ggas better drop soon cuz I’m this summer. ” The fourth and final edition of the Atlanta native’s Drip Season series has been a huge hit.

The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, selling 150,000 album-equivalent units and earning him his second No. 1 album. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) last month after selling over 500,000 copies in the United States.

Gunna has made some significant connections outside of music. During NBA All-Star Weekend, the rapper teamed with Hennessy for their new Digital House of Moves. Fans were treated to a holographic rendition of Gunna during the digital performance.

Gunna told REVOLT about the collab:

“It was something I’ve never really did before, but it was cool. It was quick. We didn’t really take long to do it, but it was still creative. They showed me how it really worked. It was just something different. I enjoyed the experience,”

Since the release of his mixtape Drip Season in 2016, Gunna has released new music every year. With his Drip Harder collab with Lil Baby, he finally got it into the top 5 of the Billboard 200 after releasing two more DS projects. The mixtape’s main track, “Drip Too Hard,” premiered at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200.
