Lil Durk is on a roll when it comes to releasing quality content. The Chicago drill rapper released his new solo album, 7220, on March 11 and sales have already reached impressive numbers. Now, it appears he has bagged an eye-watering check from his label.
Durk took to social media on March 13 to claim that he has secured a sizable amount of money from his record label, Alamo Records. He tweeted, “My label gave me 40 million let’s talk bout it,”
The 29-year-old Chicago native did not provide further details about his alleged haul. The $40 million he received might have been an advance for a future album or several projects. It’s unclear how many albums it locks him in for, but this is an obvious sign that Lil Durk is working and his label realizes that.
Durk’s label, Alamo Records, was acquired by Sony Music last summer. He is fresh off the release of his latest album, 7220. The rapper is undoubtedly one of the hottest rappers in the game right now.
Meanwhile, you can check out Lil Durk’s tweet. We will be on the lookout for more updates. Stay tuned to Thirsty.
