Coi Leray Says Her Dad Benzino Doesn’t Realize She’s Her Own Person

Coi Leray is on her way to big things on her own. The rapper has a new collaboration with Nicki Minaj titled “Blick Blick,” which is set to be released this Friday. Following the announcement of the collaboration, Coi posted a message for her father, Benzino.

Coi’s father, Benzino, went to Clubhouse earlier this year and prematurely announced his daughter’s collaboration with Nicki. The rumours were addressed by all three parties, with Benzino apologizing to both Nicki and Coi Leray. Nicki even went out of her way to say that no collab of any kind will be released.

The issue is now resolved, but Coi Leray took to Twitter to address a stumbling block in her relationship with her father.

“My dad has to realize that I’m my own person. Not only am I am artist, but ima young black WOMEN FIRST and he has to understand his actions and what he does can possibly affect me overall as a brand. Most important part of it all is, all this is bringing me and him closer.”
