Ben Simmons spent most of this NBA season trying to find a way out of Philadelphia. Simmons was uncomfortable with the team’s medical staff. Ben was suffering from mental health issues. The entire scenario seemed more like a hostage situation by the time the trade deadline rolled around.
Simmons was ultimately traded to the Brooklyn Nets in a blockbuster deal. Since then, Ben has not played a minute of basketball. Fans have been wondering if Ben Simmons will hit the hardwood before the end of the regular season.
Nets head coach Steve Nash recently gave an update on Ben Simmons’ status. Nash didn’t have a whole lot to add to what we already know. The coach said he is very hopeful that Ben will be able to play before the end of the regular season.
The Nets could use all the help they can get. Brooklyn is barely clinging to the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot. The Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets are nipping at their heels.
Having Ben Simmons available for the playoffs would be wonderful news for the Brooklyn Nets. That becomes completely irrelevant if the team fails to qualify for the postseason. Time is ticking for the Nets to punch their ticket.
Steve Nash thinks Ben Simmons will be in the lineup before the start of the playoffs. Simmons is likely chomping at the bit for some game action. We will just have to wait and see if that happens. These are nervous times for Brooklyn Nets fans.
