50 Cent is without a doubt one of the most well-known rappers in the history of hip-hop. This is because he has a global following and has appeared in a variety of media including games, movies, books, and more. However, Teairra Mari, the star of Love & Hip Hop, is being questioned under oath by 50 Cent.
According to court documents acquired by Radar, the Power mogul is attempting to recover $50,000 that he believes is owed to him and alleges she has been delaying payment. Mari must go before a judge with bank account information in hand to explain her finances under oath, according to the records. Mari filed a lawsuit against the Queens superstar in 2018 after he shared leaked sex footage with the VH1 star on his social media sites.
A year later, a judge concurred with Fif, dismissing the complaint and ordering Mari to pay the rapper $30,000 in legal fees. Mari hasn’t paid a dollar since the ruling, and the additional $20,00 comes from various sanctions that have accrued over the years. She’s also resisted the rapper’s attempts to collect her paychecks and bank statements.
In the most recent filing, Fif’s lawyer wrote:
Mari “has been the subject of repeated sanctions by this Court but has been seemingly unswayed by such actions and has not paid any money towards the Judgement or sanctions against her, making the increased penalties associated with a finding of contempt necessary,”
“If you fail to appear at the time and place specified in this order, you may be subject to arrest and punishment for contempt of court, and the court may make an order requiring you to pay the reasonable attorney fees incurred by the judgment creditor in this proceeding.” the order will reportedly read if a judge signs it. Mari should also be convicted in contempt, according to 50, for completely disregarding the initial ruling.
The current complaint comes after 50 restarted his battle with Mari on social media in January, tweeting a photo from one of her press appearances with her celebrity lawyer to remind her and his 27 million followers that he is still owed money.
