It was reported earlier that Jay Z and Dame Dash were involved were involved in settlement talks for Reasonable Doubt lawsuit. With less than 24 hours after the report Damon Dash has denied that talks.
Damon Dash took to Instagram on March 17th, to make it clear that the former business partners are in no manner involved in the “settlement talks” as reports have suggested.
“Please don’t believe this hype we are no where near a settlement,” Dash declared while sharing a screenshot of an article on the so-called settlement talks. “They accused me of doing something i did not do and now they have to prove it…and i can sell my share anytime I want #askthejudge.”
In the same post, Dame urged JAY-Z and their fellow Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke to settle the matter out of court at the same time daring them to respond to his Instagram post.
Jay Z had planned to seek permanent injunction against Dame Dash in the case the the two parties fail to agree on settlement. which seems to be happening soon now that Dame is openly rejecting the notion of settlement.
The injunction would prevent Dame from “altering in any way, selling, assigning, pledging, encumbering, contracting with regard to, or in any way disposing of any property interest in the album Reasonable Doubt, including its copyright and including through any means, such as auctioning a non-fungible token (NFT) reflecting, referring, or directing such interest.”
This should really come as no surprise to anyone who understands the history between those two. Dash has also publicly stated in the past that he has no intention of letting go of Reasonable Doubt.
