Recently Replaced Steelers QB Mason Rudolph Breaks Up With Tennis Star Genie Bouchard

Mason Rudolph has been having a rough week. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback was penciled in as the heir apparent to the retired Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers instead signed Mitchell Trubisky to take over the reins. Things have only gotten worse from there for Mason.

Rudolph had been dating tennis star Genie Bouchard for nearly two years. The couple initially got together back in 2020. They were inseparable after that.

Mason Rudolph not only lost the Steelers starting job before he ever had it, but now he is single. The split was reported to be amicable by TMZ. Mason and Genie plan to remain friends.

There has been no word on the cause of the breakup. It probably was not football-related, but the timing is truly a bummer. Mason Rudolph lost his job and his girl in the same week.

Pittsburgh fans were largely divided over who the next franchise QB should be. Mason Rudolph had plenty of supporters. In Pittsburgh, the backup quarterback is always the most popular guy in town.

Mason will have a lot to think about in the lead-up to training camp. There are even rumors that the Steelers could draft another quarterback, either Pitt’s Kenny Picket or Liberty’s Malik Willis, further jeopardizing Mason Rudolph’s spot. The pain of a heartbreaking split can’t be helping with his focus.
