Mickey Rourke Dragged Over His Take On Russia Invading Ukraine

Mickey Rourke recently appeared on the ultra-conservative TV network NewsMax. The star of “The Wrestler” was brought on to give his opinion on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Rourke instead delivered a rambling missive that indicated that he has no idea what he was talking about.

NewsMax is famous for trumpeting the whims of former President Donald Trump. The outlet has been caught pushing fake stories time and again but remains a favorite of conspiracy junkies and QAnon adherents. Rourke gave his thoughts, noting that he thinks only God can stop Putin.

Ukraine is fighting harder than anyone expected them to fight, and… Um…. I think everybody really thought it would be over in two to five days and whatever would happen, but now the Ukrainians are putting up such a hard fight, they’re just not going to give up. You know, I don’t care if there’s two Ukrainians left, they’re going to fight until they’re dead.

Fans responded on Twitter with a verbal destruction of Mickey Rourke. The actor didn’t receive much praise from either side. Many wondered why he was talking about Ukraine when he doesn’t have much of an idea of what is going on there.

“I can’t make fun of Mickey Rourke. I remember when I thought he stole Body Heat, & whatever happened to him since then seems tragic. I can, however, LMAO at Newsmax for having what’s left of him comment on the War in Ukraine.”
