Simon Rex Turned Down $70k To Lie & Say He Slept With Meghan Markle

Simon Rex is an American actor who starred in the March thriller “Red Rocket.” He is also popular as a rapper and model. Rex recently told a story when he was offered a fortune to spice up a newspaper’s headline with a bold-faced lie.

Unnamed British tabloids offered Simon Rex $70,000 to declare he had slept with the Duchess of Sussex, according to The Guardian. Rex and Meghan Markle simply shared a platonic lunch during their appearance in an episode of the sitcom “Cuts” in 2005.

Later, he said that other unnamed UK tabloids offered him money to claim that they had slept together, which he declined. Rex revealed that Markle wrote him a thank-you letter for his honesty. He keeps the thank-you letter framed in his home in Joshua Tree.

I was broke as f—! I really needed the money. But I’ll be on food stamps before I do that.

The actor recently spoke about the incident once again on Twitter. Since she began dating Prince Harry in 2016, Markle has had a tense relationship with the British media. After stepping down from royal duties in April 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex severed all links with British tabloids The Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Express, and Daily Mirror.
