The world of rap is filled with violence and it has been proven time and time again. Many talented artists have lost their life due to gun violence. Recently, Yo Gotti’s concert was shot up which left one shot and 2 other people injured.
WKRG reports that according to officials at the Mobile Police Department, three women were injured during a shooting that happened at a Yo Gotti concert held at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds. On March 20th at around 1 a.m, a gunshot was fired inside of the auditorium at the fairgrounds which struck a woman in the upper back.
The shot woman was taken to University Hospital with a non-life threatening injury. Additionally, during the crowd surge two women were injured and taken to Providence Hospital. They were treated for minor injuries.
An arrest warrant was made at 1:12 a.m. in the parking lot of the fairgrounds for an individual for unlawful discharge of a firearm. Following the incident the Grounds executive director emailed a statement explaining the situation.
The Grounds takes the safety of guests that attend any of the over 150 events we play host to every year seriously. An incident did occur overnight at a concert produced by Suave Entertainment held on our campus. It is the policy of The Grounds to not specifically comment on any incident where an investigation is ongoing. We would like to take a moment to thank our Security Staff for immediately stepping up to the plate to ensure guests were safe and the incident was managed appropriately.
